Great site with views of the Flatirons by Boulder. Site allowed for a two story home that steps down the slope. Contemporary form makes for interesting shapes on the outside and the inside. Slope made opportunity for a deck on the front to the view and a patio at grade on the other side. A stair along the driveway up to the main level created an interesting sequence of arrival.
The client was a self-proclaimed fashionista and needed the space to show off her talent. With vaulted ceilings, specialty lighting, custom cabinetry (including a sliding shoe wall), and large windows bringing in ample amounts of natural light; the space became a showroom instead of simply a closet. This design was not meant to be a storage space, it was meant to be an experience.
Existing ranch style home needed updating, new façade treatment and covered back patio, new kitchen and some layout improvements.
